Boo, a scene change :( 

Sorry for the late upload -- as I've mentioned on my social media accounts, I have been super slammed starting a new job and now I am out of buffer, which is something that has literally never happened to me while I'm "in production" on the comic. Fairmeadow has to take a backseat to other things going on in my life right now - so I apologize if updates become a bit irregular for a while (on a cliffhanger, no less) while I adjust to my new routine.

I'm most active on BlueSky and Instagram if you want to see what I'm up to in the meantime!

We're back! Thank you for your patience while I got things rolling on this chapter. A few bits of business:

• I'm at Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle this week! Booth E-12 in Artist Alley.
• Patreon already has 3 pages published, where you can pay what you want to join starting at just $3/month. Patreon always gets my pages first, and usually in batches of 3-5 pages as I complete them.
• I will be disabling & eventually removing Hyvor comments on this site. I appreciate some of the thoughtful discussions this comic has provoked, but it's like being the author sitting in on a book club as readers rigorously dissect their work page by page. An artist is just not meant to experience that, I think. I cannot tell you how much I have loved not thinking about moderating my comments section while I was on this hiatus. As a reminder, I am on BlueSky, Instagram, Tumblr (sometimes), AND I have a Discord channel for my readers if you're thirsty for discussion!

You may also notice I've tweaked the coloring style a bit in this chapter. I am focusing on making Fairmeadow a more sustainable project for me (hopefully being able to make pages a little more quickly, since I've had less time for it lately.) Fairmeadow truly is a one-person effort, so any way I can make it easier on myself while still hitting a look I'm happy with is a win for me.

Smallest buffer I've ever had, but I'd rather have it updating sporadically at this point than not at all. I'm excited! I hope you are too! 

I want to pop in before this place gets too dusty to let you know that I have worked my way through the other more important obligations in my life and now: IT'S FAIRMEADOW TIME.

I did a convention, I've been working my way through tattoo school (I've already done 15 tattoos!), I hit a big milestone in a contract project I've been working on - this was not a relaxing summer break by any means for me, but I'm glad to be back working on my story again. 

I'll share more when I have a better idea of the Ch 06 launch date - stay posted!

Hey friends, it is time for me to get real and officially put Fairmeadow on a break for the summer. I love this project so much but it's causing me an undue amount of stress hovering over me when I really can't handle any more on my plate at the moment. Life and world circumstances are pretty shitty and busy right now, and I'm trying to take some pressure of myself before I completely implode. Unfortunately it has to take the lowest priority position of all the irons I currently have in the fire right now. Thanks for understanding, I look forward to filling your eyeballs with more gay orc drama as soon as I am able <3

In the meantime, you can still find me lurking and ocassionally posting on social media @hagofbolding on many platforms (Instagram, Tumblr, BlueSky, sometimes Twitter if I am feeling extra masochistic.) 

And my shop is still open and recently restocked with Fairmeadow prints!

So many people have asked about Olivine's tats! For the record, I would love them to be more ornate than the shorthand I've developed for her, but they take me long enough to paint in every panel as it is. So use your imagination as far as how detailed they actually are lol

Relevant news - I've started attending a tattoo trade school part-time (trade school for tattooing is a requirement in Oregon, vs a more traditional apprenticeship.) I'm stoked to take up tattooing as a way of supporting my independence as an artist & hopefully to add a little more stability to my life as a freelance / indie cartoonist. Fairmeadow ain't going anywhere but I know it's going to be a bumpy transition while I figure out how to balance school & comics and settle into a new routine. Rest assured Chapter 6 is well underway and I'm really excited to start sharing it with y'all! When though!? Unsure. Stay tuned, I'll still be posting these Q&A's in the meantime and share updates.

While there's a bit of the usual hiatus between chapters, I wanted to offer this as a bit of fun in between. Now's your chance to ask questions of the characters! I'll be answering in doodle/comic form over the coming weeks. 

What gets answered will be at the discretion of how much time I have / whether or not it treads into spoiler territory so I'm really sorry if I can't get to all the questions!

When will chapter 6 start? I am not sure yet so I'm not comfortable pinning down a date - hopefully it won't be longer than a few months. Unfortunately it's a busy time for me and I am starting a part-time semester of school over the summer.  I'll be sure to keep y'all updated as I become more confident in a launch date.

I'm back from VanCAF & I had an absolutely amazing weekend. Thank you everyone who showed up! Hello to any new readers I might have picked up along the way!

It is both a blessing and a curse that many of my prints & stickers sold out while I was at the show, because now I'm on a restock scramble before my next con in mid-June. Fortunately, I still have a small handful of my first run of Fairmeadow risograph prints available.

If you're curious about what the heck a risograph is, check out this site. But the TLDR is: basically a digital screenprint with 1-4 colors that may or not be actually fluorescent. A fun by-product of the process is the slight offset of each color as it's applied along the way, giving each print distinct character. It adds an analogue quality to an otherwise digital process.

These might sell out quickly online, but fear not! I have another appointment to restock these, as well as a couple other items, at the beginning of June.
